Can't play audio attachmentss

I have a Macbook Air with Catalina 10.15.6. I have Acrobat Pro DC with all the latest updates. Every time I try to play an audio file attached to a PDF I get the message "Cannot find an appropriate player for the sound."

Hi,

Adobe Acrobat and Reader official update (20.013.20064) containing the fix for this issue is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. You may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

No. I have never before tried to attach an audio file to a PDF.
