Can't Use the Acrobat Chrome Extension with Keyboard

New Here ,
Feb 26, 2019 Feb 26, 2019

Greetings-

I'm a support specialist for a college. We have one blind student who uses JAWS screen reading software on his Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop and relies solely on keyboard navigation.  Recently, he reported that he is unable to open PDFs in Adobe Acrobat DC from web pages and instead has to save them to his computer and open them.  Upon investigating, I noticed a change in the Acrobat Extension for Google Chrome.  I was able to track down the keyboard shortcuts to interact with the extensions (F10 to focus the Chrome settings, then arrow over to the extension).  Upon pressing 'enter' or 'space' to interact with the highlighted button, the dropdown (Fig. A) appears. However, upon pressing the down arrow, the right-click context menu pops up and takes focus instead (Fig. B).  Is there something I am missing to interact with the "Open in Acrobat" menu via keyboard shortcuts? Is there a better way?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Nothing that Acrobat takes care of. This is something to do with the Chrome and its extensions settings. Acrobat's web extension doesn't offer as such keyboard shortcut, and neither we have any preferences setting that can be changed to achieve(correct) this.

Thanks,

Akanchha
