I cannot get the words to print on any PDF file. It just shows jibberish and I cannot find English on my language choices. Also, I do not know which Microsoft Word to enter in my Adobe choices. I bought my computer in 2009

Please tell us more on what is your operating system and version, what is your Acrobat and version and what is your printer?
It looks like you have a problem with your print-subsystem and not with Acrobat.

This is not a printing problem, as I contacted Cannon and verified this morning. I need Adobe's assistance to print my files in English. Can you please call me instead of chat?

These forums are not Adobe Technical Support. And please don't post personal information such as phone numbers (which we have deleted). You need to contact Adobe Technical Support directly for such support. You will need to be able to supply an example PDF file that exhibits such problems as well as information as to operating system and version as well as versions of Acrobat or Reader being used and the printer model involved.
There is clearly no “language choice” involved in printing PDF files. The jibberish may have something to do with font encodings although the fact that you claim the problem is with all PDF files does tend to point to a printer driver or printer issue itself.

Dear Constance,
Dov has spoken and I have nothing to add, except that if you want help, you should answer the questions. These are public fora and the masses of the entries are for helping people in similar situations. If you want private help, you need to have a paid for current Adobe program like Acrobat DC and need to contact Adobe via Contact Customer Care .
Canon and HP and Brother and all the others tend to say it is not a problem with them. That may or may not be the problem. As long as you do not give more information I do not see any chance to direct you in the right direction. If you want to share private data, you can do so with Dov not with me. I‘m not an Adobe employee and I’m helping users based on my experience, which does not have all the insight Adobe staff has.
Regards,
Abambo.
