Carriage return results in offset next line

New Here ,
Dec 30, 2020 Dec 30, 2020

I am editing a PDF using Acrobat Pro.  One thing that keeps happening and I am looking for the reason and way to overcome:  When I have an text object that I want to edit, using a carriage return to go to the next line results in the next line being offset like a hanging indent.  Sometimes, If I click out of that object and then click on the indented line, it will select as a separate object which I can then realign to left justify but at others I cannot get that to happen and am stuck with the hanging indent/offset.

Hi Default,

This is happening because Acrobat Pro is not a word processing application. It doesn't know about indents, hanging indents, leading, and all of the other things we expect out of basic word processing applications and page layout applications (e.g., InDesign). The intent of editing within Acrobat is to correct a misspelled words, fix dates, and other small changes. If you want/need the type of correction capability that you describe, can you get access to the original document? If not, you might try exporting out to a Word file, make your corrections, and convert it back to a PDF.

Sorry, I do wish I could tell you otherwise.
