Change comment color in sidebar?

Advocate ,
Jun 22, 2023 Jun 22, 2023

I have a document with comments in which the person's name is light against the dark background, but the comments are too dark to read... (note: I'm referring to the sidebar where the notes are listed, not the notes on the page...)

Is there a way to change the comment color?

thanks!

OK, think I worked out what's happening on your side.

There are multiple ways to add comments to a PDF.

1. Sticky note comment.
You click on the sticky note icon (looks like a speech bubble), click somewhere on the page, add your text and then click the Post button. In dark theme, your text will be a light grey. In light theme, your text is a dark grey.

2. Adding text to the page through the Text box (T inside a box icon).
You click on the text box icon, draw a box on the page, and type in text. With this text, you have the option to change the text colour. If you change the colour, the text on the page will show that colour as well as in the comments area on the right. So, you could potentially have blue text on a dark grey background.

Your solution could be to change to a light theme (View > Display Theme > Light Gray) or change the colour of the text in the text box comments.

Forts - to clarify, are you using Acrobat DC?
And I assume you're using the comment option that adds the comment icon in some area of the text and then the comment appears in the right. Is this the case?
Following the above, the background and text colour is standard. You can make the text bold.
Perhaps you could give a screenshot to show an example of a comment you've added to illustarte what you're seeing.

Hi - yes, using DC.
Yes, using commenting that appears on the right. Here's how it looks for me... obviously, not ideal.

One thing you seem to have is a dark theme.
From the View menu at the top choose View > Display Theme > Light Gray.
