Checkbox 'onlick' changes background to grey

I'm having a weird problem that I don't recall having before. I'm working on a new machine here at work.

Basically I made a checklist in InDesign, saved to PDF and am adding checkboxes in Acrobat.

The problem is that when the check boxes are activated by clicking, a grey box appears for a split second to the dimensions of the checkbox while the mouse is pressed. This obviously doesn't look great. Is there any way to disable the 'onclick' color from appearing?

Thanks!

You can avoid that if you create the check box fields in InDesign.

AFAIK, no, it can't be disabled.

Thanks George, that worked! I didn't think to use InDesign's built in form features.
