ColorMunki Photo. Is it any good?

I've finally had it with the poor color accuracy of my Epson WF-7520. I'm considering purchasing a ColorMunki Photo so I can finally resolve my color calibration problems. Does anyone use this device and if so how happy are you with your purchase?

Also, is it Mac OS Sierra compatible?

Thanks!

You might be disappointed at the results.

The printer in question is basically an office printer, not a graphic arts printer for color critical work. It is questionable whether anything you can do with a color calibration device could be used for this type of device.

Dov, I appreciate your candor.

Can you recommend a good, wide-format printer I can use for proofing purposes? I'll be using it primarily for proofing InDesign projects sent to commercial printers. I have purposely avoided inkjet proofing printers with more than 4 ink cartridges because most commercial printers use CMYK presses.

Although I personally understand the issues, I am not familiar enough with the particular models to make any recommendations.

Hopefully, other participants on this forum can offer some recommendations for you!

BTW, those colors beyond CMYK process colors in such printers are really necessary in order to simulate commercial printing even if you aren't using spot colors. That is because the CMYK inks in the inkjet printers don't at all match the typical offset printing inks and additional inks help in the precise color matching you need.

Really? I didn't know that. Thanks!

Here are the wide-format printers I'm considering. Both are 6-color printers and are within my budget.

Amazon.com: Epson Artisan 1430 Wireless Color Wide-Format Inkjet Printer (C11CB53201): Electronics

Amazon.com: Canon iP8720 Wireless Printer, AirPrint and Cloud Compatible: Electronics

I tend to favor Epson for printers, but I'm open to either one.
