I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024 version.
There are poems on the web that have been printed and now appear as png files.
I drag the page from the wb to my desktop, then drag it into Acrobat.
Then, I select "Edit a PDF", which converts the fonts into text.
Each line of converted text of the poem shows up as a separate line in Acrobat.
My goal is to combine all the separate lines (along with their existing line breaks), in order to paste the entire text of the poem into WordPress. Is that possible?
If possible without line breaks that would also be ok, but not ideal.
Any assistance would be grately appreciated.

There's no need to do that. Just select the text directly, not in Edit Text mode, and copy it.

The text in the transfered page is not yet text--it is in png format, s first it needs to be recognized as text. Selecting directly from an image does not copy the text.

I assumed you ran Text Recognition on the image. If not, that's your first step.

Please read the steps I took in my original post.
I did that.

You just wrote: "The text in the transfered page is not yet text--it is in png format"
So it is text, or isn't it? If it is, select it directly, as I wrote before. Do not try to edit it.

Grateful for your followup.
It is text, but shows up as seprate lines. Again, my aim to to combine these lines and paste them as if they were the original poem.. To help you, see attachments: #31, which is copied from a webpage as .png. #31-2 is after "Edit a PDF", which shows separate lines. First, you cannot select text from #31 before it is converted, and selecting text from #31-2, will not combine seperate lines per original #31.
I hope this helps clarify my issue.
