Hi All,
I'm needing to check two very large documents for the text to be exactly the same in both documents, the old version is a PDF and the new version is a Word document with different formatting that I've already converted to a PDF to use in Acrobat with this purpose.
I'm using the compare documents function for this task, ticking the option to "compare text only" (as I already know that the format and layout is different) and I was wondering, in your experience, how accurate is it?
So far, it seems to be working okay, but I'm still cautious as to whether I should trust the tool 100% or not.
What's been your experience on text accuracy?
Thanks in advance

Be cautious. It will detect "differences" and claim that text has been removed and inserted, when in fact it is the same text.
It also doesn't track across page breaks, so if your pagination isn't the same across both docs, it will flag more "errors"
You may be better off exporting to Word and using Word's file compare.
