Converting file to PDF version 1.4 or above

When trying to send an attached PDF file I get a message that states "We don't support PDF version below 1.4. Please convert your file to version 1.4 or above and try again." Can I get someone to help me in doing this? I am using a Mac computer. Thanks.

Open your PDF with (the free) Acrobat Reader DC.

Add a comment (anything you like).

Delete the comment.

Save As ==> Now your PDF is 1.6

I just opened the PDF in Chrome and then printed as PDF to save a new PDF file. My file just had an image scanned from a printer. This worked for the app I was uploading a PDF to.
