For MacOS 15.5 using Adobe Acrobat version 2025.001.20529 selecting create new pdf from scanner does not work anymore.

However, under MacOS setting,  selecting scanner allows creating a PDF from scanner.  Using Adobe Acrobat to create pdfs using scanner does not work.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Have you started experiencing this issue recently, or was it there earlier as well? As you have the latest version of the application, please try to reboot the computer once and see if that helps.

Try updating the Printer/Scanner driver and firmware, and see if that works. You may also try to remove the scanner driver, reboot the computer once and reinstall it from the Printer/Scanner manufacturer's website and check.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the e-mail.

This is an error that appeared on a new install of an Apple MacBook Pro 14 2024 with MacOS 15.5

I’ve updated the Printer/Scanner drivers but the firmware says the new firmware was older that the firmware that was currently installed.  I’ve tried removing the scanner driver, rebooted the computer once and reinstalled it from the Printer/Scanner manufacturer’s website and that did not work.

I did notice on the MacOS 15.5 under Printers and Scanner, there is no longer a device as a ’Scanner’ as there was previously.  To access the scanning functions, you just click on the Printer and select the ’Scanning options’ button and you can scan from there.  Scanning using this method works and scanning from the Canon TS 9520 to the MacBook Pro 14 2024 also works.

However, now when I attempt to scan from scanner using Adobe Acrobat, the program just shut down.  This happened several times so testing was discontinued.

Please let me know what other troubleshooting steps I will need to try as I need Adobe Acrobat to work.  Also, my subscription included Adobe Acrobat Pro but I don’t see this as an option to download.  Please confirm that my subscription is for Adobe Acrobat Pro and that this is the program I’m downloading.

Adobe Support,

Received an e-mail from Adobe Community Mailer asking me if my problem was resolved.  Yet I do have not received a reply to my last post on July 25, 2025 that responds to Adobe's first e-mail response.

I have not been able to use the "scan from scanner" feature in Adobe Acrobat and have tried the original suggestions from Adobe's first e-mail reponse.

Please repond to my post on July 25, 2025 and forward any more troubleshooting suggestions to resolve this issue.  I would really appreciate a response as their is upcoming subscription payment for Adobe Acrobat and I do want to pay for a fully working Adobe Acrobat.
