Creating/Printing a PDF drawing from Creo 12.4

New Here ,
Dec 03, 2025 Dec 03, 2025

Having a issue when I try to print a drawing to pdf in Creo (Cad) software Adobe names the file name is "Creo Parametric - ?456-001-001-B470-00001" The ? is some sort of symbol and the main issue I have is the added extra 001 to the file name and this naming shows excatly the same in Title of the Document Properties . Why is it adding the extra numbers? Can I change some settings to just use the doumnet name which really is just 456-001-001-B470-00.

Hi @George_5428,

Thanks for reaching out.
Since you are printing the file to Adobe PDF Printer, you may try the following:

-  Go to Printers and Scanners > Adobe PDF, printer > Printer Properties > Preferences > Check for "Adobe PDF Output Folder: " and you may choose "Prompt for Adobe PDF filename."

Check the screenshot attached.

Let us know how it works.

I currently have it set to prompt and it prompts but adds all extra naming info and the 001 and the extra naming garbage ends up in the pdf's Title of Document Properties. Reference page 3 attachment of initial posting

@george_5428

When you check the file properties, it is actually available as 'Title', so it picks it up from the metadata.
As mentioned earlier, when prompted for the file name, you need to manually alter it according to your requirements.

I have changed it to be what the filename should be and it's painful especially having the extra numbers added that can lead to incorrect drawing naming not only by myself but other engineers as well. As shown in your post picture even if I revise the drawing name it still puts the incorrect naming in Ducument Title Properties I don't want to have to go into each drawing to correct the title to match the file name.

Hi @george_5428

I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, I don't see an option to change the app's behavior.
You may try the 'Guided Action' feature for bulk renaming, if that helps. You learn about guided actions here: https://adobe.ly/4aJFmz8

Also, if you can file for a feature request or feature enhancement here: https://adobe.ly/48IDJPC

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions
