Date field not functioning

Community Beginner ,

I have created a fillable PDF job application for my business, and would like to create fields for an applicant to enter a "start date" and "end date" for previous jobs. I have chosen the "Date field" option, but these fields are still showing up and behaving like "Text" fields instead of "Date" fields throughout the form. When I send the form to someone to practice filling it out, all "Date" fields simply have you type text, instead of showing the pop-up calendar that should appear. I also cannot find the option in the "Text Field Properties" box for any of these "Date" fields to change the format of the date (to MM/YY, for example). Am I missing something, or does this sound like a glitch?

I have tried closing and reopening the document, quitting and restarting Acrobat, etc. and nothing has worked. I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat today, so I believe the software is as up-to-date as possible.

When you have checked "require signature" then you have created a Adobe Sign Form. You can convert the form into a Acrobat Form:

The pop-up date calendar is a relatively new addition. It's only available in Acrobat or Reader DC.

What application, including exact version, are your users using to open the file?

I'm not sure what version my sister and mom's computer have (they tried filling out the form); but I do know that, even though I have the most current version of Acrobat DC, it's not showing up on mine when I try to complete the form myself

It doesn't matter what you're using to create it, but what is being used to open it.

It should work in your Acrobat DC, though.

Can you either share the file with us, or post screenshots of the Date format settings you've selected, and of what happens when you click into the field?

Here are some screen shots--you can see the "AvStartDate" field highlighted, and then to the right is the Text Field Properties box. Under the General tab you can see the field type is selected for "Date", but under the Options tab there are no options specific to changing the date format, etc. There's a screen shot of the form in preview mode, and you can see that it is operating like a text field and not a date field, where the calendar should be popping up.Screen Shot 2018-09-27 at 10.29.41.pngScreen Shot 2018-09-27 at 10.29.54.pngScreen Shot 2018-09-27 at 10.32.36.png

Do you use a Acrobat Form or a Adobe Sign Form?

To be honest I'm not sure... How would I check that? I'm pretty sure it's currently set to "require signature," if that's what you mean. I originally created a word document and then converted it to a fillable PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC.

Hello. I am currently using adobe acrobat pro. I am having issues with the date field. Usually, I can click on the date field and select what date I would like to input. However as of today I cannot do this and have to manually type in the date. I have ensured I am on the latest version of adobe.

This is what the date field looks like for me. Even when I keep all of the settings on the date field as standard and do not mess around with any settings.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
