Using Adobe Acrobat 2017, I set my preferred layout and zoom, and I set document I will be using to an initial view of Default, with the goal being that when I open it later, it will open to my preferred layout and zoom. If I send the document out, whoever opens it will have it open to her preferred view automatically. That's the goal. This is important for court documents because the judges want to see them in their preferred view. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked for me. The document always opens up however the heck it wants to (maybe some embedded setting I can't find), despite me setting it to go to the default for whatever user opens it. To be clear, the settings I am trying to use on the document itself and the local software are the following:
Edit > Preferences > Default Layout and Zoom. I set to my preferred layount, single page continuous and 100% Zoom
File > Properties > Initial View > Layout and Magnification. Layout and magnification were set to "Default"
Thank you for any insight!

Hi Blair
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described the initial default view is not working.
Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/viewing-pdfs-viewing-preferences.html and see if that works for you.
Regards
Amal
