Do I need Acrobat Pro to produce PDF from Framemaker 12?

I have Framemaker 12 being installed on Citrix and cannot have Acrobat 12 installed on Citrix. WIll I still be able to produce a PDF out of Framemaker 12 without Acrobat?

Simply stated, no you don't need an individual copy of Acrobat to produce PDF from FrameMaker. FrameMaker currently ships with a “headless” version of Acrobat Distiller. During installation of FrameMaker, if no copy of Acrobat is found to be installed, the FrameMaker installer creates an Adobe PDF printer driver instance for use of FrameMaker to create PDF.

That having been said, I don't know whether there are any “issues” with use of that Adobe PDF printer under Citrix (I suspect not), but you should try the FrameMaker installation and verify that you can print to Adobe PDF to create PDF from FrameMaker.

Please note that there is no such product as “Acrobat 12.” After Acrobat XI (11), the next version was Acrobat DC (via subscription with quarterly feature and bug fix updates) or Acrobat 2015 and then Acrobat 2017 available with so-called “perpetual licenses¨ (bug fix updates but no new features while supported).
