After the recent Adobe Acrobat update, I can no longer drag and drop my pdf into an email.
Is there a way to do this? I am working on a Mac.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in response.
Have you tried to drag and drop the pdf from the library/file explorer or the Acrobat application itself?
If you cannot drag the file from the file folder itself, then it doesn't have any role of Acrobat here.
For file dragging and dropping from the application wasn't an option earlier.
For better understanding, please elaborate on the issue or better to share a video of your workflow.
Thanks,
Akanchha

You used to be able to grab the icon in the top tab and drag it into Gmail (or I'm assuming Outlook or other applications). The icon has been replace with a star, and you can't drag and drop it anymore. I use this ALL the time. Please restore that functionality.
They cynic in me would say you're trying to force people to use Adobe Cloud, the nice guy would say it must have been an oversight.

Tried to do something else that didn't work and it gave me a message to go to View > Disable new Acrobat. Looks like it gives you the old interface back. Not sure how long it will last.

You are attaching a docx file.

The cynic in me thinks the same thing. There's no way this was an oversight. This is a very capable company that knew exactly what it was doing by subtly pushing people into their cloud.
Note to Adobe: It won't work. I previously reverted to the "older" (better) theme. And I'm doing it again today after you automatically set it to the new theme again. Which no one likes. Restore drag & drop from the title bar and I'll stay with your new theme. Keep messing with your customers and WE WILL LEAVE YOU. I already have PDF Expert ready to go.

I am also having this problem. Is there a solution?

Same here. I seriously think that nobody at Adobe actually uses their products in real life. I hate the star. I want to drag my PDFs into Mail because it increases my productivity. Instead I find myself clicking on multiple things just to do the simple thing that I used to so. Adobe needs to stop rearranging all of the icons on the screen and find ways to make functional productivity faster. Acrobat is the worst offender of all of the Adobe products. It's like the people that work there need to find things to do so they constantly change things that don't need changing.

The only thing that really does not work anymore, is sending the PDF file to your e-mail program as an attachement. I understand why Adobe prefers sending a link, but I can assure you, that I have users, who open any PDF without precausions, but distrust links, even when I phone them to tell them that they got a link.

I agree with all comments. Acrobat 9 was a perfect program! So intuitive. Can't stand the icons and trying to figure out what I used to do in five minutes now takes 15. Please Adobe, return to Acrobat 9.

Drag&Drop to e-mail is something that the e-mail program handles. It's kind of the same issue as complaining about the TV-set maker (lets say SONY) that your TV network (lets say NBC) does not show the films you want to see.

I agree. This is totally annoying. I have to now Reveal in Finder to do this. One more step. I am not going to go through Acrobat to send the email.

I used to be able to drag and drop into other applications as well not just email (like my work software when it needed an attachment). I cannot drag and drop PDFs to anything after this recent update. Very annoying. It has to be an Adobe issue because its not working for multiple softwares and it happened exactly when this update came out this month.

Go to View > Disable new Acrobat. Probably a temporary fix, but should help for now.

This is fantastic because unlike the adobe employee above who apparently does not use their product, this actually addresses the problem (temporarily). Thanks!

So glad I read through the entire thread and found this! Totally solves the problem of dragging the PDF into an email, or into Phtoshop, a function that I use a lot. Saves a lot of time.
This also puts the tools and icons back to where they were in previous editions, and where they made a lot more sense (no hovvering tools that cover up artwork).
THANK YOU!

Yay! you are a lifesaver. Adobe, get your act together. The 'NEW' Adobe is like New Coke. It sucks.

Just found a work around - right click the title where the Icon used to be and choose Reveal in finder, then drag from there.
