Hi,
I have a Xerox Work Centre 6605, used on Mac OS; printer firmware, driver, software are up to date.
Printer has duplex capabilities; shows up in every program on Mac. Up until some Adobe Acrobat version (I think before "DC"), duplex capabilities would be correctly identified by the Adobe print driver; then, suddenly, they disappeared.
I can still print duplex from within Acrobat using the "Printers" button, but obviously this comes with Adobe's warning that some Acrobat features may not work correctly.
I have waited for about 20 Acrobat updates since, hoping functionality would come back, but to now avail. So - what's Adobe's recommendation? Just ignore their own warning and print using OS-land, or use a different PDF viewer that does not have a broken printing stack. Or would this be fixed again at some point?
Florian.

Hi Florian,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Would you let us know the version of Adobe Acrobat or Reader you are using?
Also, you may visit this thread: Print double-sided | Adobe Acrobat, Reader and let us know if that helps.

Hi,
Version is
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
2017 Release | Version 2017.009.20044
With regards to the workaround described in the thread, yes, I CAN print double-sided from the Mac OS/X native print dialog, but the point is that when you do this, Reader responds with a warning that you should actually avoid doing it and using the Adobe print dialog is preferred to fully support all of Acrobat's features. Furthermore, it worked through the native Adobe printing system until some version 2 years ago, so why would that functionality have gone away, when the same logic, UI flow and printer driver is used. Based on this, it remains a valid workaround to do just that, but IMHO, not a full solution.
Thanks!
Florian.

Florian,
Thank you for your response.
You may ignore the warning. Yes, it is recommended to use the native application UI for printing.
There is a good chance the Reader/Acrobat current version might not be compatible with the printer drivers you have for this device.
