Editing text in text boxes

New Here ,
Jul 11, 2019 Jul 11, 2019

Why does it take many attempts to double click and edit text in a text box now? I have never had this issue when working in Acrobat. Now I can't edit the text my first try and I'm seeing a black image of a trash can when I'm clicking on the text box. What is causing this? Did this change with an upgrade?

Hi Adamh,

It seems that you are trying to edit the text in the text box added using the comment tool.

As Bernd Alheit mentioned above, there are some commenting experience improvements introduced in the latest version.

You may refer to the following help document for more details on this.

- What's new in Adobe Acrobat DC

Hope the information helps.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Thank you, Meenakshi.

I'm having a hard time considering this change an "improvement" to the software. Rather than showing me a trash can for quickly deleting the text box and requiring me to double click 15 times to edit the text, I'd LOVE to be able to edit in the text box after simply double-clicking and being forced to take the milliseconds to press the delete key on my keyboard instead of clicking an icon.

Anyway, thanks again, Meenakshi.

I am unable to enlarge (i.e., edit) the text in a text box I created in an existing .pdf file, using Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 (Classic).  I try to get into the Tools>Edit but the editing sidebar is grayed out and I can't enlarge the text.  Please help.  This is a major issue for me.  My older version allowed me to just go to "Properties" and edit the text font and size, but now "Properties" does not have that option.  Very frustrating.
