Embedding fonts into PDF (was Converting Word to PDF)

New Here ,

Hello there! Can someone please tell me why everytime I convert my Word file into PDF, the original font I saved from my document turned/changed into a different font? For example, I have used 2 fonts, Luminari and Lucida Blackletter. Once converted to PDF, it changed to something else. Your input is appreciated.

Most likely those fonts are restricted; you have to purchase an additional license to embed the fonts into a PDF. Check the manufacturer's website for details. Usually PDFs are covered  by the licensing of fonts for epubs/ebooks.

 Lucida Blackeltter: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/lucida-blackletter#licensing-and-redistributio... and https://www.fonts.com/content/microsoft-typography

Luminari: https://www.linotype.com/483198/luminari-regular-product.html

Linotype/Monotype is enforcing the licensing (and extra fees) of its fonts, as well as other font foundries.
