Enable paste different currency format into a Text field formated as Number

I would like users to be able to paste the following currency format $ X,XXX,XXX.XX into a Text field formated as Number but they can only enter number and .

Any idea on how this could be done?

Not possible. You'll need to create your own custom Format script to allow that.
