error 1606 Could not access network \.

I had acrobat PRO 8.3.1 installed on my Windows 10 Pro machine and it was working fine except for the Adobe PDF printer.  I tried many things and could not get the printer to work.  It had been working and I suspect an Windows update caused the problem.  I decided to remove Acrobat and reinstall.  Now part way through the install I get the error 1606: Could not access network \.  Anyone have any ideas how to solve this and what it means?

Hi chzuck,

Since you have confirmed the Acrobat version is  8.3.1, so there is a possibility that it would cause trouble reactivating it on Windows10 OS. Reason being, Acrobat 8 is a discontinued product which is no longer supported. We can suggest troubleshooting steps, but can not assure that it would work again. End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)

You can try the troubleshooting steps suggested in a similar discussion here and see if that works for you: Need to reactivate Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional

Hope this helps!
