error message- GCClient.exe won't run due to missing .dll file

I have Adobe Acrobat XI V 11.0.20

When I boot up I get a message saying that Adobe GCClient.exe can't start because msvcp140.dll is missing.

What's this all about?

I managed to stop this error upon booting up by going into task manager (on my Win 8.1 Dell) and disabling Adobe update start up utility.

I do have that .dll file- one version in a folder for Firefox and another version in a folder for McAfee but not in an Adobe folder.

I also had McAfee do a full scan of the entire computer so I'm pretty sure it's not malware.

any suggestions? Should I have a version of that .dll in an Adobe folder?

thanks

Joe
