Error msg 14

New Here ,
Jan 31, 2018 Jan 31, 2018

This situation is typical of hundreds of PDFs on computer.  I have a book in PDF about 225 pages, which I annotate constantly (presently 583 comments) and bookmark (about 140).  I am now getting an error message 14.  I have had problems saving other files, but in the past it always worked the second or third try.   I am now using Acrobat (Pro DC) on Mac.  If the problem is with Comments, then I am screwed, because I need to keep the comments separate from the content of the text (for example, some PDFs are of medieval manuscripts, where I need not to alter the source image), so using Edit would not help.  What do I do to save the file and years of work, and to continue working on this PDF?  Do I have to give up a successful research practice of 15 years?

Hello henrym35915043

As per the description above, you are getting an error message 14 with the PDF file containing annotation and bookmarks, Is that correct?

Please refer and try the suggestions/solutions from the following KB docs which discusses the similar issue and scenario There was a problem reading this document (14) Link: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2351596
