excel page numbers

When a large excel document is converted to pdf, the page numbers go out of sync.

I have an example document that is 62 pages long. The first page says 1 of 65, halfway through it switches to page x of 62, then it switches back to page x of 65, and the last page is 62 of 65.

Hi,

Can you confirm the version of Acrobat and the operating system you are using.

Also, can you describe the steps you took to create the file, including the options you have selected.

One technique would be to create the pdf without the page number and let Acrobat add it later.

more details here: Add headers, footers, and Bates numbering to PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

Eric

We have tried various steps to print the excel document to pdf:

  • File – print – select ‘print entire workbook’ from settings
  • File – print – select ‘adobe pdf’ from the printer menu
  • File – save as adobe pdf – select entire workbook as the conversion range – convert to pdf
  • File – save as adobe pdf – manually add all sheets to the selection – convert to pdf
  • When we upload an excel document to DocuSign, the DocuSign system automatically converts the excel sheet to pdf and the same page number issue is encountered

We are using Windows 10 OS MS Office 2016 and the latest version of Adobe DC

Hi,

Have you tried to use the Acrobat plugin in your ribbon?

Have you looked at print preview and cycle through all the pages to see if it shows the page numbering issue there before printing? it would indicate an Excel issue. If the numbering is ok, then it could be an Acrobat problem.

Yes we have also used the Adobe plugin and the result is the same

Excel - When using the print preview the page numbers appear sequentially as expected, and this is also the case when the excel document is printed on paper, therefore the issue is in the Adobe conversion?
