People have been using this feature for more than 20 years now... It might be new to you, but it's hardly a new thing.

These forums are FULL of good tips and tutorials about this subject, as well as other sites, such as Adobe's own help pages (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-form-field-basics.html), or the old AcrobatUsers tutorials site (https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/), and several paid-for sites.
