The new format for Acrobat Pro has changed the extract function. I can no longer extract a number of pages together and have a new Pdf with all the extracted pages and be able to save it under a new name. I have to either extract them and delete from the original document or extract all pages as separate documents. This creates significan amount of work since I have to extract pages to send to IRS while keeping the original document intact. This may cause me to find another vendor.
Also, have the bookmarks open on every document whether or not there are any is ridiculous. It is a waste of time closing it every time I move to a new document. In my business I have to move from one document to another to review the information clients send.

Hi, @epdcpa, that's exactly what you should have.
Let me explain:
• If you have two or more pages and check nothing, all removed pages will be in a single document, and nothing will be deleted from the original document.
• If you check the "delete pages" option, those pages will be deleted from the original document
• If you check the "extract pages as separate documents," each of the two or more pages will be extracted as separate documents.
I hope this is helpful, but you are in the right place with the right tool. There's nothing more that we can do.
Please let us know if this now makes more sense.

I'm with you. The new version makes this feature a bit of a mystery, but I think I've found the steps.
First, go to bookmarks and setup the bookmaking as usual. Don't forget to save.
Second, go to Organize pages. You will find the extract feature is now called 'Split'. Click on the small arrowhead to the right and down of the Split word. From here it is identical to the extract procedure.
I hope this works for you. I was able to split a long document into 11 separate documents using these steps. But it took me awhile to figure it out.

If it hasn't changed for you then you must not be using the new format or maybe not the Pro version.

It has changed, it's just kinda sorta hidden.
Go to All Tools, and then click on Organize Pages
Then, select the pages you wish to extract (continuous, use Shift-click, discontinuous, use Comand/Control-click)
Finally, click on this non-descript icon for extraction. Remember to check if you want to extract to remove or extract and not change the original.

When I do those steps my only 2 options are to delete pages after extracting or extract pages as separate files. The extract as separate files creates one Pdf for every page and saves them without giving an opportunity to name the files. I want the selected pages to create one Pdf not 15 if I have 15 pages.

As you can see in the screen shot the only options I have are to deleter pages after extracting or extract as separate files. I used to be able to extract pages as one file and the original remained the same.

Don't check any option, press Extract, and you get a file with 2 pages.
