I have somehow managed to create fields which seem to not have names. See four fields in green box.

Although I CAN select them, they don't have a black name field, nor so they show up in the "Fields" list on the right.
I can select "Properties" and, under the General tab, the Name field is blank. HOWEVER, if I display properties for a named field, then click any of the four 'unnamed' fields, the properties of the most-recently-viewed named field are displayed. Any changes made to an 'unnamed' field appear to have no effect. I cannot delete them, which is what I want to do. Any suggestions/explanations?
I am using Acrobat Pro X on a HP machine running Vista.

Duh! - I was so fixated on REMOVING the bad fields that I completely missed the EASY solution -
use my original source background to create a new page, Duplicate all the GOOD fields to it, and then Delete the page with the corrupted fields - problem solved. Your use of the term 'new page' was a figurative slap to the head - thanks!

Those fields are corrupt. The only way to remove them is by using the Redaction tool. Move them to an area where there's nothing else (including a background graphic) and then use that tool to remove them.

I don't have an area without a background graphic. Any further suggestions?
Also, does the redaction actually REMOVE the fields or just COVER the designated area? IF it removes them, can I them remove the redacted area, leaving a clean background area?
I saw comments elsewhere about Redaction, and tried it, but it left a big black rectangle on my form. I was able to make that 'no-color', but that's not the same as 'clear/transparent' (allowing the background to show thru).

Then create a new page and move them there.
And no, redaction does not just cover the fields. It removes them entirely.

How can I "move them there"? I cannot Cut, Copy or Duplicate. Sorry if I'm being dense, I have tried for days now to eliminate these fields without destroying my form.
