Fillable forms fields not showing filled but will actually print as filled

Customers returning fillable forms show as empty when emailed to us but actually print as filled when asked to print.

The form was created with Adobe Acrobat DC.

Do the returned PDFs show that form was modified by Preview or other Apple product?
