Hi all,
Looking for some help. I have been asked to look into interactive PDF's for a client I am working with. We would like the document to have links to folders, other sections of PDF and play videos
I have just done a test with a colleague and the video and button work fine on my machine but will not work on his. The placeholders are there but nothing happens when you click.
I have used the forums and searched for the problem and have been reading flash needs to be installed? Is this right considering support for it is disappearing? This is an mp4 video do I really need flash installed?
Does the receiver need Adobe Acrobat pro to play videos?
Any help would be gratefully received.

A workaround is to place the MP4 as an attachment into the PDF file, with a link or a button to open the attachment (with the default MP4 player).
this.exportDataObject({cName: "myMovie.MP4", nLaunch: 2});

We have no idea what will happen to video in PDF files when Flash disappears in 2020. But it hasn't happened yet.
Most likely your colleague was opening the PDF in a browser or email app or other non-Adobe app. Needs to be opened in Acrobat Reader - not just on a machine where Reader is installed.
