Hi all.

i have produced a catalogue in indesign and exported as an interactive pdf. It has images that are opened via buttons but hidden until the button is clicked.
when I view the pdf in Apple preview or iBooks all the hidden images are seen on top of my catalogue page.

It is well established that apple preview does not follow the public domain PDF standard. In fact, apple preview will actually damage PDF files when they close the open file.

Hi all. Thanks for the replies, I have recently upgraded to the latest iOS which is when the problem started, fine before that. I will contact Apple and see what they say.

As its name suggests, Apple Preview (aka "The PDF killer") is just a previewer, for PDF as PSD or XLS files. But don't expect a previewer to have the same functionnalties than Acrobat, Photoshop or Excel.

iBooks is not a PDF viewer nor a PDF previewer.

JR, its been 3 months since you've rresponded so I hope I'm not hijacking. I've asked this question in the Apple Community and all responses that are intelligible place the responsibility on Adobe. Reasoning that Apple is not licensed to delete a pdf within their Preview app on a Mac. So I ask you, is there a way while within Preview, to delete a file straight up? I have found a sloppy workaround but it is certainly not conveniet. And in your opinion, is it because Apple won;t pay a licensing fee to do so , or is it because Adobe won;t license that permission?

I'm just a photographer and simply want to allow my list within their app Preview to remain static, and not lose them because I fogot what I titled the files. That's the long and short of this query

Many thanks
