Hello,
i would like to permanently hide the bookmarks in my acrobat pro 2017. Unfortunately, under settings> documents I do not have the checkmark for "Remember current state of Tools Pane". Is there another setting option in this program version?

Hi there
We are sorry for the trouble. As described you want to hide the bookmarks in Acrobat Pro 2017
Please try the following steps and see if that works for you. Open the file and go to File > Properties > Initial View. Under "Navigation Tab" select "Page Only". Press OK and then save the file.
For more information please refer to the discussion https://answers.acrobatusers.com/How-do-you-turn-off-Bookmarking-on-Pdf-s-q182835.aspx
Hope it will help
Regards
Amal

Hello,
I can't view this answer which was marked correct. I'm having this same issue - I can only edit the view settings for each individual file. I want to permanently hide right and left panes upon opening any pdf file. It makes no sense to only be able to do this manually for each file - can't the default view be modified?
Thanks
Christine
