Highlight tool selecting entire page

Community Beginner ,
Jun 26, 2021 Jun 26, 2021

Suddenly, when I attempt to highlight one line of text, the tool is selecting an entire section of the page.  In the first pic, I am left-clicking to select the top number (-$287.29).  In the 2nd pic, I have released the left-click and this highlight appears.  Why can I no longer select one line of text?Screenshot (29).pngexpand imageScreenshot (30).pngexpand image

OK, it's just how the text in this file was created... You can try and fix it by exporting the pages as images, creating a new PDF file from those images and then running Text Recognition on it in Acrobat.

Had to reprint the report because my redact tool is doing the same thing.

This is from a QuickBooks report that I printed to Adobe PDF.  Viewing it in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (32-bit).

Thank you.  That worked, but this has never happend before.  Why is it happening now?  Also, the quality of the document is not nearly as good after going through the steps.

Am I using the right version of Acrobat?

It depends on the way the file is created. How exactly are you generating it from QB?

PS. If you export the PNG and set it to the highest resolution setting the quality loss will be minimal.

Good to know there's a workaround.

I run the report in QBO then print, selecting Adobe pdf as the printer.

I am a bookkeeper.  I have been printing reports this way for years.  This only started a week or so ago.

This happens to ALL of my pdfs.  I remember when this started, it was somewhere in the highlight tool settings to change the shape of the highlighting but I cannot find where the settings are now.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

It is not helpful to be advised to recreate an entire PDF using images. This is a bug. When will it be fixed???

Why do you think it's a bug in Acrobat and not in the file's structure?
