Latest Version, It just is invisible when I type, no layers, no white text just is invisible

Which version, please, not "latest". A number like 2016.123.09876. We have to insist on a number because many problems are actually really failed updates.

And, which tool. You've only said you're typing, but not which tool you're using. For example: the bookmark tool, to type into a bookmark title.

We need a lot more detail, though I realise you think you've told us enough.

Only trouble with this font? Are you using the official FHWA Series fonts for Highway Gothic? Or a free replica font?

from dafont but other ones included in the download like highway gothic narrow work (5 fonts came in one download but highway gothic regular doesnt like to work, i tried re-installing the program and fonts and nothing helped).
