how do i add a tick to lines in a pdf

I want to reconcile my bank statement on my pc instead of on paper.  I normally tick the entry when I have found it and because I have say 10 pages of entries, I want to be able to tick each line so I can leave the task and return to it later and still no where I got to.

You can use the Stamp tool to do that. There's a built-in Tick stamp under the Sign Here menu of that tool.
