How do I get pdf icon back?

I use Acrobat Pro DC on a daily basis. Today, all the pdf icons next to my pdf documents went blank. This happened to the desktop and taskbar icons too, but I've worked out how to fix those. Cannot work out how to get the other icons back though. The application seems to work fine; it's just annoying because it looks odd, and I don't understand why it's happened. Any thoughts gratefully received!

Spent quite a lot of time doing that yesterday and none of the suggestions worked. Neither did uninstalling and reinstalling. However, having come back to it this morning and trying another uninstall/reinstall, the icons are back...
