Hi mariannezzz,
If you're using Acrobat DC, then this tutorial may be just the thing you're looking for: Edit text and images in PDFs | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials.
If you have an earlier version, such as Acrobat XI, check out this Help document: Acrobat Help | Edit text in PDFs
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Hi Marianne,
If you're trying to copy and paste text boxes from a PDF, first choose the Edit Text & Images tool. Then, click to select the text box that you want to copy and choose Edit > Copy. To paste, choose Edit > Paste.
If that isn't what you're looking for, please tell me precisely what you're trying to accomplish and I'll try to get you pointed in the right direction.
Best,
Sara

Hi Sara,
The pdf was created previously, and I am not sure how the text box was inserted. I just couldn’t select any of the text boxes by clicking. I tried selected it by click on “Edit Object” first, then select. In this way, I can select the text and box, but I could not copy and paste them.

Hi Marianne,
If you're still having trouble, it may be that the PDF is restricted, and doesn't allow editing. If you see the word "SECURED" in the title bar, that's a tell-tale sign that the PDF is password-protected, and may not allow editing.
Best,
Sara

Hi Sara,
No, I know it allows editing, because I update it for something else as well. And those worked fine.

Hi Marianne,
What happens when you try to copy/paste? If you can select the objects, then you should be able to copy and paste them. When you paste, the pasted item often appears on top, but slightly offset from the original item. Then, you can drag the copied item wherever you'd like it appear.
Whatever you copy is placed into the system's clipboard, so if you don't want to paste it back into Acrobat, you can switch to another application and paste it there.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,
Sara

Hi Sara,
What drove me crazy was that I could select the object but when I right clicked “Paste”, nothing happen. I thought it was on the top of the original item, but when I dragged, it was the original object got dragged. So Paste actually did not do anything.

Hi Sara,
I figured out how to do it now. After I select the object, I need to click on somewhere else then paste. It worked. Just couldn’t do this on original place.
Thank you very much for your help, problem solved.

I am having a similar problem. I can't copy between pdf files. This used to work for me, but now it is not working. I often need to make the same correction on several pages, so it is important to be able to copy the markup from one pdf to another.

Hi Sara,
I can copy & paste multiple callouts from one PDF to another PDF but when I paste them, they are in a different location when compared to the PDF I copied them from. Can you please help?

Edit->Copy is disabled. Why I can't ctrl-C and Ctrl-V any part of pdf file and copy to notepad or MS Word, Excel??? It was always available before.
