How To Deal With One Long Slender Column Over Many Pages?

I have this document which looks fine on the computer but when I go to print it out it prints out as one page of one column of fine print down the centre of the page. 

I'd guess there's about five or six pages in that one column really.

How do I massage that into full width and required number of pages?

Which app was used to create the original document?  Hopefully you have the original file to work with.   

That's the tool you should use to fix it and then export it to a new PDF.

Does it contain one long page, or several ones? If so, you can use the Multiple option in the Print dialog in Acrobat to print multiple sheets onto a single printed page.

one long page. that's what I said. "..prints out as one page of one long column... ". 

There's apparently no commonly known way to change this sort of thing..?  Looks to me like perhaps an html page saved as a pdf.  Html pages can be of about any length I think

The way it prints depends on your print settings. It doesn't have to be the same as the way the file is set up.
