How to set first page of pdf opens

Is there a setting in Distiller that will ensure the first page of a PDF opens first?

Now when I create a PDF from a FrameMaker book, sometimes the first page of the PDF file does not open first. It opens, for example, on page 7.

It would be best to find out why it's opening to page 7.

What does it show for: File > Properties > Initial View (tab) > Layout and Magnification > Open to page

If it is set to page 1, what does it show for: Edit > Preferences > Document > Restore last view settings when reopening documents

If neither of those goves a clue, exactly how are the documents being opened?

You'll need to adjust your "PDF Setup" configuration back in FrameMaker.
Under the Settings tab, just below the value set for "PDF Job Options:", adjust the value for "Open PDF Document on Page ____ at Zoom ____" .
Do this for the Book file.

An alternative is to post-process output PDFs using an Action (or pre-X a Batch Sequence) that uses the "Open" sequence.
