How to sign the PDF and apply password?

Dear all,

I have a requirement to digitally sign the PDF after which i have to password protect the PDF.

However from testing so far, this seems to be not feasible using adobe reader or acrobat.

I would like to double check if this is not achievable.

You can add password protection with Adobe Acrobat, you must allow signing the document.

Two tips:

1. Reader cannot add a password.

2. Adding a password would destroy a signature, so signing must be last.

3. No action combines these into one.

I understand the situation, as you want to sign the PDF and then apply a password to it, This can be easily done with Adobe Sign. When sending an agreement, you can set the options to either verify that the signer is indeed the correct person or secure the signed, completed document with a password.

If you are using Adobe Sign, the password is added when the document is generated. Without Adobe Sign, you need to digitally sign the password protected document (i.e.: password protect, THEN sign). This can be done in one step for the first digital signature. Set the document security (ctrl-D) to password security, then add the digital signature. There is an initial Save operation during signing that will apply the password security, so you don't have to save it twice.
