I just want to get rid of the bubble at the bottom of my screen for the AI assitance. Can this be turned off so that I don't have to hide it each session? I hate that it's there and in the way.
I understand that I can go to preferences and turn off the generative AI stuff. I tried that. it doesnt work, as it's already unchecked.

Thank you! Who knows what I'm missing that might be nice/helpful in the new Adobe by reverting to the classic AI but this suggestion is the only solution I've found that removes the flashy AI Assistant button on a Mac. I believe it's appearance on the toolbar should be controllable via the Generative AI preferences settings.

I don't know how to do it on Android, where it's a pain too.

Absolutely this!!! I've no problem with new features such as AI, but having to turn off this for each PDF I open makes me resent any improvements that the AI may or may not provide.

I didn't spend $50k and 10 years on my education to have questionable algorithms forced on me left and right. I say questionable, because MS Word does not suggest proper grammar, but rather the down-graded, commonly-used grammar of our modern world.
I tried following the instructions on Adobe's site for turning off the "Generative AI", which is not an AI; it is an algorithm. There are no settings in the app or on the website when I click on my picture in the top-right. The Acrobat does not have a topic "Generative AI" in the preferences dialog.
Please update these instructions, so that they are correct. And, additionally, please create an option in the new version of Acrobat allowing people to turn-off your algorithms. Sadly, ALL of the MS Office applications came with this turned on. Having some algorithm trying to guess what I want to write is HIGHLY annoying. Thank you.

I agree. I found this thread while looking for ways to turn off the 'why not try our generative AI?' splashscreen in Illustrator.
I'm philosophically opposed to AI in the creative industries.
I don't want to see Adobe's mindless suggestions that I try it.

Yep, it's total crap and intrudes the screen when I'm trying to get some damn work done. I'm tempering my language and so I cannot express how awful and disruptive it is in this forum.
