I attempted to download the DA 31 and saw the exact same message as you.  BUT... I right clicked on the link, and chose Save link as...

I saved the file to my desktop, and opened it in Reader/Acrobat - it worked!

Wording of save command may differ from browser to browser, but this should work for you.

My best,

You really need to provide more details if you want any help. Starting with:

- What application (including exact version number) you're using.

- What's your operating system.

- What happens when you attempt to open one of these files.

- If possible, a link to such a file, so we can see it for ourselves.

I am using my Microsoft Surface 1

Windows 10

I am trying to download and efile from, www.apd.army.mil/ProductMaps/Pubforms/DAForms.aspx , specifically DA FORM 31

when I click the Download tab to the right it gives me this message:

Please wait...

If this message is not eventua replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document

You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows etc, by visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.

I followed the steps and downloaded the newest versi or so i thought. Thanks in advance

I can't access that URL, but from the error message is sounds like your browser is trying to open the file by itself. Instead, you need to set it to save the file, and then open it using Adobe Reader.
