Why am I paying a yearly fee to drive myself crazy trying to edit a document that should take minutes. Every thing I click on causes an not responding error. It has taken me 30 minutes to add 1 text box with 10 letter in it. Very frustrated. Tried checking for updates, fix installation options. No help at all. Anyone have an answer to this issue.

Hi, @sandra_9252, I can't promise I can help you, but if you supply what your platform is (e.g., Mac, PC), what version and release is your OS. And, if you know, what is the source of the PC (scanned and OCRed, from a website, downloaded, you created from a Word doc., etc.
Lastly, what are you doing to the document? That is, are you commenting, correcting, what? And lastly, what are you clicking to get this done.
Oh, one more lastly, have you tried other documents and were you more successful or about the same.
Sorry for all the questions, just need to fill in details as opposed to making them up (I always make up the wrong details, not helpful).

PC, Windows 11 Home, 24H2, File being editted is from a design program that up till today had no problems, I need to add additional instructiona which I do by adding a Text box, ie: Right Handed or Left Handed, Increases start here. This is about the length of most being added. I am clicking on the Text Option from the Edit Menu then clicking where I want it.
I have tried Documents saved as PDF from MSWord and same issues.
I am using Adobe Pro and it is up to date as well.

I ended up re-installing Adobe Pro without the New AI features and it is working normal again.

That kind of constant freezing usually points to system resource issues. Running a quick CPU and GPU bottleneck test can help reveal if the hardware is struggling, which might explain why even small edits are causing “Not Responding” errors.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely run the CPU and GPU bottleneck test to check if that’s the root cause. Makes sense that hardware strain could lead to constant freezing.

That sounds incredibly frustrating — when Adobe Acrobat becomes unresponsive like that, it’s often due to background sync processes, outdated plugins, or corrupt preference files. Try disabling cloud syncing temporarily and running Acrobat in safe mode to isolate the cause. Additionally, clearing temporary files or reinstalling after a full cleanup can also help. I faced similar slowdowns while working on system performance tweaks for my own setup, much like optimizing the best saltwater baitcaster; it’s all about finding that smooth, efficient balance.
