You can't do that yourself. Only Adobe can do it for you.

You might find that Acrobat 8 will not work the newer operating systems form Windows and Apple. Also Acrobat 8 is no longer a supported product by Adobe.

Check this Adobe web page here for phone activation, thse are toll-free numbers for certain countries, they will be able to issue another activation chance for you provided that you have your serial number handy when speaking to them.
