When I go to my bank's web site to even view my monthly statement, I click on the hyper text for the "name" of the document and it immediately goes to My Documents and I have to save it as a PDF file before I can even open it up for viewing. The same is true for printing. I must print from the My Docs file instead of the banks web page. The same is true with email attachments. They go to file automatically and I have to print the document from a file. Sometimes, I don't want all these saved files. Is there a way I can print directly from the web page without downloading and saving the document first?

What is your web browser? Do you view your mail in a web site?

TSN, thanks for your reply! I'm using Google Chrome in Windows 8.1. I get a copy of my utility bill from the city I live in each month. It is always a PDF file. I can view this file in the email that it was sent in. I don't usually try to print this document, but when I go to my bank's web site and pull up my monthly statement, it is only named in hyper text format. I used to be able to just click on that text and the file would open up and I could either view or print my statement while still being logged in to the bank's site. I don't remember when or how a change was ever made, but now, when I click on the text, My Documents opens up and the only option is to save the file in my computer to open up later to either print the statement or view it in its PDF form. I know that I can delete the file after I print it, but I would just prefer to print it directly from the bank's web page instead of having to save the file on my computer. Any ideas?

It might be that the web site is designed to force this to happen. We can check this easily.
In Chrome, please visit this test: https://www.adobe.com/be_en/active-use/pdf/Alice_in_Wonderland.pdf
Does this download to your Downloads folder? Or does it open in Chrome?

I think it originally went to Downloads, but I selected Libraries/Documents and then put the PDFs in a file I set up for bank statements. Now the PDFs just go to the Documents file. I will check your test link and let you know what happens. Thanks!

The Alice in Wonderland file went to Downloads and opened up in Acrobat Reader. It that significant?

So... it goes to Downloads but the bank statements ask you where to put it? This sounds as if the bank site is sending something special, a "force download link". Unfortunately, this is making your browser insist that you download first.
You could make a TEMP STUFF folder in Documents and make an extra double click to save there. Then every so often delete everything left over in TEMP STUFF.
