I have a pdf set up for our digital department. They now want it 2-up on 11x17.
Is there an easy way without completely redoing the job?

Do you have Indesign or Illustrator at your disposal? You can create a document with the given size and place your pdf twice and export to pdf again.

This may help. It’s not exactly what the digital department is asking for, but it may do the job if you don’t have InDesign or Illustrator.

This works but the disadvantage against my solution is that with print multiple you will always have an implicit fit, which is not always what you want.
Sometimes the printers dialogue will also allow for multiple imposition. It is sometimes worth also looking into those options.

You can also duplicate the page (alt/opt drag the page in the pages tab to duplicate) in Acrobat Pro so that you have two of each page. Then select 2-upp from Multiple

I’d second the place/export suggestion to avoid printing.
IMHO no prepress department should be without inexpensive must have tools such as Enfocus PitStop Pro, Callas pdfToolbox, Quite Imposing or another such product, even if they have more expensive PDF workflow or imposition software etc.
