Images have no bounding box

New Here ,
Jul 16, 2021 Jul 16, 2021

Hi, when I run the PAC 3.0 checker I get an error message stating "figure element with no bounding box". I have already tried a recommended workaround, where I delete the tag of the figure in the PDF and then cretae a new tag for the figure. But also by doing this, the new tag of the figure has no bounding box which is necessary for a barrier-free PDF.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and would be very glad if anyone has a solution for this problem.

Thanks!

Hi, I have the exact same problem as you described. Were you able to solve your problem and how?

Hi, yes I could solve it. I had to add a completly new figure tag and delete the old one afterwards. I did so by opening the reading order tool, marking the figure and then adding a new figure tag directly to the figure. I hope this helps you as well.

Thank you for your reply! I did exactly as you said and this did not help. Instead, I went to the figure element shown in the reading order pane and under the respective page number. Then, right clicked on the figure element in the pane and tagged it as figure in the drop down list. Only then I was able to create a new figure with the bounding box.

Thanks again though!
