Hi All,
Getting used to Acrobat Pro DC (came from acrobat 9). I'm trying to import a PDF as a layer, however, when I do this, the existing form fields on the layer are gone. How can I keep the layer intact.
For reference, the layer is a form with 16 rows and 3 text fiels per row. My goal is to import 6 PDF layers, which will be nearly identical in structure but will be filled in with different content. I will make only the one layer visible at a time.

Form fields are not associated with layers (normally speaking), so you can't do that. You need to copy them separately.

What I'm trying to do is along the line of setting up selectable tabs on the document, each of which shows a similar, but different form. I had hoped that showing and hiding forms as layers was the answer.
Are you aware of a way to accomplish what I’m trying to do?

Yes, it's possible to do that, but you would need to show/hide the layers and the fields on their own.
This will require a custom-made script to be developed.

I believe Acrobat will only allow you to create form fields on the top layer, however, if you create the layers and form fields in InDesign and export as a multi-layer interactive pdf, you can then edit the form fields on multiple layers. Here are links to related discussions:
