Input barcode data into a PDF file

Community Beginner ,
Mar 16, 2017 Mar 16, 2017

I work in law enforcement and have created PDF forms to help streamline our massive amount of paperwork. I also use a barcode scanner in other applications to scan drivers license and registration paperwork.

I have been searching for a way to scan the barcode on a drivers license and have it populate into the PDF forms that I have created, but have not found a solution to this.

Do any of you have an idea on how/if I can scan this info into my forms and have it populate the respected fields (name, dob, address, etc.) automatically? I am using both Acrobat XI and DC on different computers.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance!!!

I'm interested in the same thing for the same reason. Have you had any luck since your post in 2017?

Hi!

I hope you are doing well, and sorry for the delayed response.

Please see this Adobe article about the PDF barcode form fields, which will guide you with steps: https://adobe.ly/4gx6LnX

I hope you find these helpful. And let us know how it goes.

Thank you,
Anand Sri.
