Install Acrobat Standard DC 2017 again

Hello,

 

In 2017, my compagny Have bought a licence of Acrobat Standard DC. I can see  it, well recorded in Plans / My products. It says :

 

  • Acrobat
    1016-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
    Version: 12.
    Platform: Windows
    Registration Date: Sep 26, 2017

 

The computer on which it was installed died few days ago, so i am trying to install it on a new computer (windows 10)..... but i don't find how to do it.

To install it again, i have download the file installer from this page:

Installation runs find, but when i try activation it asks for a serial number. If I use the number find in my product (1016-xxxx…..) , it says that “this serial number is not valid for adobe acrobat….”

 

This 1016-xxxx-… is an redemption code, so I tried to convert it at the following address:

 

https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/redemption-code-help.html

 

But again, when type my 1016-xxx…. Number Ii get the same answer : The code entered is not valid. Try Again.

 

Anybody to help me ?

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, you are unable to install and activate the application on the new computer as the old one died.

 

I see that you are getting confused between two- Acrobat Std DC (Subscription based application) and Acrobat Std (Perpetual / License based application).

 

Acrobat perpetual / license based application require the license key (Serial Number) for activation. where as the Acrobat DC is directly linked to your Adobe ID and doesn't require  any serial number for activation.

 

I have checked your Adobe account linked with email you are using on this community and i didn't find any subscription  though i see that you have Acrobat internal version 12 also known as Acrobat 2015 perpetual product registered.

 

Adobe Acrobat 2015 is an EOL application and no longer supported moreover its activation server and installer is not available. For more information please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-2015-reader-2015.html

 

Using the serial number of Acrobat 2015 on Acrobat 2017 will not work as it is meant for Acrobat 2015 (EOL).  End of support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support, including product and/or security updates, for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products).

 

Adobe strongly recommends that you update to the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. By updating installations to the latest versions, you benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures.

It didn't, you're just not using it correctly, so it doesn't work. If you kept the installer you could have used it...

Also, it's important to understand that a "perpetual license" doesn't mean it will always work, not matter what. If you try running the application on an incompatible operating system it might not work at all, or have all kinds of issues.
