I appreciate if anyone can help me with this. I have got many 3D pdf documents for my work. Before macbook, i had a windows pc and documents were working fine. Not as quick as I needed but much better than now. My mac has 24gb ram and when I try to display 3D files, it opens very slowly and once it is open, interaction is much slower. I can't rotate, spin or take measurement easily. I don't want to mention any other software here but I can easily do this in foxit and quicker. I have enabled 3D display, disabled security. Yet, still same issue. I can do this in other software so I don't think my mac has problems. But I don't know what the problem is. Any help please?

Are you running Acrobat as a native application?

What is the version of Acrobat? What is the version of your macOS? (Please give the exact version numbers. “The latest” is no longer true tomorrow, and may not be true even today.)

Hi @Atilla5FBD

Thanks for sharing the details and troubleshooting steps performed.

Is it possible for you to share the file you are working with?

Have you enabled the following Acrobat preferences? Acrobat>Menu>Preferences>Multimedia & 3D

Thanks,

Hi Akanchha,

Hope you can solve my problem. Yes it is enabled. Like I mentioned in first post, I am familiar with viewing 3D files in pdf. When it was Microsoft, I had no problem. Now, I can't view properly in Mac. I am sending you screenshot of my preferences. I have dozens on 3D files so that files haven't got a problem. As you can also see on screenshot, image is not clear and when I need to rotate it, it doesn't respond quickly. When I change renderer to Open Gl, it can open the file and rotate but it is very small in screen at left bottom and Adobe shuts down in like 5 seconds. Waiting for your reply, Thank you

I had the same phenomenon, I changed the preferred rendered from Software to OpenGL 1.4, and it seems to have solved the issue.

LATEST

Has anyone resolved this issue.  I used to view 3Ds in Acrobat and they would spin and rotate fast with no issues.  I have a Macbook Pro with a M3 Pro chip and 18GBs of memory.  When I view a 3D in Acrobat 2024 or Reader 2024, it hardly spins and when it does it is sluggishly delayed and skips so bad it is useless to view it.  How can I be on the latest/greatest Macbook Pro and using the latest/greatest Acrobat and it is completely trash to view a 3D?
